A common source of ambergris is actually as a by-product of whales, which is first produced in their bile ducts, and then excreted. Despite its nasty origins, for some, it is a rare and coveted find that can fetch a fortune. Steven and Viola were lucky enough to find this rare substance, but there was a catch.
