The authorities thought that Ayla was not taken and had a possibility that she passed away during the time she was missing. However, there were no charges, and the person was taken to custody for the time being. Stephen McCausland of the Department of Public Safety spokesman said that the case was still “open and active.” We could not tell if she was still alive, but we were still hoping she would be found soon. Ayla was not the only child who had been in the same situation.
