No More Prohibition
On December 5, 1933, this photo was taken. Till the end of the Prohibition era, everybody was in good spirits and drinking. The United States eventually put a lot to its 14-year ban on alcohol. The booze then flowed out like rivers in big cities! Sources said the celebrations had been a bit subdued. Since speakeasies and saloons simply functioned covertly, Prohibition did not sober up the nation. Thanks to the liquor laws, people like Lucky Luciano and Al Capone made a lot of money.
