The National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden houses this lifelike bust of Julius Caesar. Using 3D technology, they scanned a marble portrait of him. The 3D reconstruction was built on this foundation. He went on to become a dictator and implement significant social and administrative reforms after winning the Roman civil war. He offered citizenship to anyone residing in the empire’s farthest reaches, among other things. The Senate did not approve of his reforms, thus he was assassinated in 44 B.C.
