Which halftime show holds the record for the most pianos performing at the same time? The answer is Super Bowl XXII in 1988. This took place in San Diego and had the theme “something grand.” Chubby Checker, the USC Marching Bands, the San Diego State University Marching Aztecs, and the Rockettes performed with 88 grand pianos to accompany them. It was an elaborate show produced by Radio City Music Hall. We want to know how many tuners they hired to work on all of the pianos! The Super Bowl had a tribute to Bob Hope as well.
