Middle Of The Pack: Boyz II Men, 1998

Do you keep up with critics? If so, you might already know that the promising performance was lackluster. Boyz II Men did not perform “End of the Road,” the most popular song of the group. This was enough to put off some of the viewers. At the time, the group had been at the peak of its career. This might be why they instead chose to pay Motown a tribute. It brought out legendary guests such as The Temptations, The Four Tops, Smokey Robinson, and Martha Reeves. A lot of people felt that the last one was the unpopular choice here, although we can’t deny that she gave us a powerful performance too. It might not have been a flop, but it not an especially memorable performance either.
