Even Worse: M.I.A. Is Sued By The NFL
It is a good thing that Madonna and M.I.A. do not have bad blood. Sadly, the younger woman was sued by the NFL for a lot of money. ESPN reported, “Contracts signed by performers for the Super Bowl stipulate that an artist’s performance and wardrobe must comply with the NFL’s standards. Failure to do so, could result in a stiff fine. Contracts signed by artists performing at the Super Bowl.” This was precisely what M.I.A. went through. Only a month after the Super Bowl performance, the Sri Lankan artist was hit with a lawsuit worth $1.5 million by the American Arbitration Association.
