President Abraham Lincoln’s assassination is quite likely to go down in history as one of the most significant events in the country’s history. President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by actor John Wilkes Booth when he was attending a production of Our American Cousin at the Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C., on April 14, 1865. After barely 5 days since the end of the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln passed away just hours after his inauguration.
