The AMBER Alert System
The AMBER alert system was established in 1996. The name used in the system was to honor the 9-year-old child named Amber Hagerman, who was kidnapped in Texas and later was killed. After the incident, they created the AMBER in fifty different locations, like in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Island. Since the use of the system, 985 children have recovered from danger. We could say that it was an effective way to find missing or abducted children.
