After Jesus’ death, He became widely known. He began to be the subjects of hundreds or maybe thousands of painters, even up to this day. However, sources were to determine his appearance being unavailable back in the day. His images were crafted in the minds of the earlier painters. These days, images and features of Jesus are being improved to create new ones. It’s what they do to create their own ideal image of the subject. First, they would create their own idea of how the image will turn out then they would use the image of Jesus, created by the painters back in the day, and use it as a base.
