Not only did Joan discover that Tunics were the common clothing for ordinary people back in that period of time, but she also discovered what the upper class was wearing during those times. People back in that time were also classified in different levels of social groups. One of the indications that you belong in the upper class is when you wear a full-length robe as it does speak that you do not have to work to make a living during those times. The female historian believed that Jesus did not wear that kind of clothing as he was described as simple and modest. It was then added as additional evidence and reference as to how the Messiah really looked like.
