You Were Never Really Here
With the main character played by Joaquin Phoenix, the film shows the life of a hitman who has hired by a government official to save his daughter from significant dangers. Although the film’s plot may seem a bit typical, the motivation of the characters and how the acting was executed makes it a unique movie. The lead actor did a fantastic job of balancing multiple types of personalities in the best way possible.

Director Robert Eggers did a fantastic job of portraying how life in the 1600s would have been. The film is set in 1630 and revolves around a father and his family banished from a Puritan Plymouth community, rendering them to go out on their own and start a farm in the forest. The family later faces many problems as they try to find a missing family member who suddenly disappeared.
