In 2004, film director Michel Gondry and screenwriter Charlie Kaufman came together to create the masterpiece that we all know and love called Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet play the main characters in the film, and from the actors alone, you can already tell that the movie is a good one. In the film, Carrey and Winslet play the characters Joel Barish and Clementine, two people who are involved in a romantic relationship that did not go well, which is why they decided to get a procedure to remove each other from their minds, which as expected, is not as easy as it sounds.

Silence
Silence is a film about two Jesuit priests who sneak into Japan to find out that their mentor has renounced his faith. In this film, American film director Martin Scorsese tackled one of the most challenging subjects a filmmaker could ever face. Despite dabbling with a tricky subject such as the meaning of life and morality, Scorsese managed to pull it off very well and delivered a fantastic film. The movie’s plot and camerawork can be renowned as one of the best there is.

Silence
Jaws
Jaws is the type of movie that would be hyped up by everyone for months and eventually suddenly flop after people get to see the film, however, film director Steven Spielberg and his crew made sure that such an occurrence would not happen. The film truly stood the test of time as it is still revered as one of the greatest films for the past four decades of its existence. The movie was so well made, in fact, that it made people think twice before they dip into the depths of the ocean.

Jaws
Unforgiven
This film is where Clint Eastwood got his start with Western movies. This movie, which Eastwood directed and starred in, recalls the story of a former outlaw who gave up his old life to raise his children but has to go back for some extra money. This film does the perfect job of showing what true ugly violence looks like instead of glorifying it in most Western movies.

Unforgiven
There Will Be Blood
In this late 19th-century film, Paul Thomas Anderson showcases the greed people have for money and oil. The film takes a jab on American capitalism and how greed drives people to do things that they do not mean to.

There Will Be Blood

Mad Max: Fury Road depicts the world in a post-apocalyptic setting. The film is about this somewhat near-feral character who goes on to save women from evil people. With the plot being interesting by itself, what made the movie stand out, even more, is the action sequences and special effects that made the movie even better. A lot of the stunts in the film are real, even the high-speed vehicles that can be seen in the movie.

Mad Max: Fury Road
Mulholland Drive
Mulholland Drive is not the first film to take a shot at perfecting the concept of surrealism, nor is it the only one, but David Lynch incorporates the theory of surrealism into this film perfectly. He blurs the boundaries between what is a dream and what is reality, which produces a film that is unsettling but impressive. The film is so unique, that even the BBC has called it the 21st century’s most excellent film.

The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford
The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford is considered to be one of the most underrated films there is.
