Magilla Entertainment, a New York-based production firm, is behind Moonshiners. They’re behind a slew of successful reality TV shows currently dominating the airwaves, as well as a slew of deceptive “scripted reality” shows. The show dramatizes their efforts to produce liquor, as well as their methods of escaping the law and everyday life. Local officials have said that the show isn’t exactly what it appears to be. The persons shown in the show are not producing any illegal booze, according to Virginia authorities.
