The relationship between Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley was short, but it did not mean that it was a tragedy. Lisa Marie was already praising Nicolas Cage shortly after their divorce and even referred to him as a friend. Nicolas and Lisa Marie had been together from 2000 to 2002. Lisa Marie Presley was engaged to John Oszajca in 2000. However, she broke up with the Hawaiian-born musician after she met Nicolas Cage at a party. Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley had been married for three and a half months before they filed for divorce. The two of them had gotten married on August 10, 2002. And yet, Nicolas Cage filed for divorce on November 25, 2002. The divorce was finalized in May 2004. The legal papers stated that the two of them “amicably resolved” their split. It was further revealed that Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley would not have any spousal support. Both of them would be able to keep all the assets that they had brought into Marriage. In an interview with Lisa Marie Presley last 2003 on CNN’s Larry King Live, she confirmed that they were still friends. And when asked what brought the pair together, she answered, “It looked attractive like I could be equal. Similar situations, similar backgrounds. So, we connected, we had a great connection. We were both a bit – we’re sort of these gypsy spirited, you know, brutal pirates. And one pirate marries another they will sink the ship is what it comes down to.”
