Gorgeous George (1932-1962)
George “Gorgeous” Wagner had quite a flamboyant character! We feel because of this, he felt the need to promote pro wrestling into the domain of “sports entertainment” during the First Age of Wrestling. And eventually, he was considered to be the first person to make wrestling an authentic sport. His frugal moves and somewhat dishonest moves turned him into a wrestler that fans really loved to hate!
