Bo Derek
Not being born in the 70s would not hinder us from knowing who Bo Derek was. Born as Mart Cathleen Collins in 1956, Derek was known to be a film and television actress, a film producer, and a model. She broke through her career when she starred in the film 10 in 1979. The film did not only pave the way for Derek but also made a great hit at the box office and had an enormous financial success. Since her breakthrough performance in 10, she starred in numerous series like A Change in Season and played the role of a college student who had an affair with her older, married professor. The film was not as big a hit as her previous one though. She also was featured in Playboy magazine in 1980. Derek had her first leading role in Tarzan, the Ape Man in 1981, which was directed by her husband. Although the film received negative reviews from critics, it became a box office success, making over $35 million in sales. She stepped away from the spotlight for quite a while. In 2002, she published her autobiography entitled Riding Lessons: Everything That Matters In Life, I Learned from Horses. Recently, Derek had been donating to many organizations such as Branson’s Wild Aid. She also introduced a product line for dogs named Bless the Beasts.
