There was a time when George Clinton wrote for Motown. In the past, he wrote and recorded a lot of hit songs for indie soul labels in Detroit. He also formed a band called The Parliaments, which was later known as Parliament and Funkadelic. He became known for his unique electro-funk and psychedelic rock style. He served as an inspiration for a lot of rappers as well. Among other things, he wrote “Can’t C Me” for Tupac and “Bop Gun” for Ice Cube. He released a label of his own called C Kunspyruhzy.
