In the ‘60s, Bert Berns made a name for himself as a songwriter and producer. You might also know him by the names Russell Byrd and Bert Russell. He is known for writing pieces such as “Hang on Sloopy,” “Twist and South,” and more. He has produced hit songs like “Baby Please Don’t Go,” “Brown Eyed Girl,” and “Under the Boardwalk.” During his younger years, he danced in mambo nightclub and lived in Havana. However, he had to go back to the United States because of the Cuban Revolution. He was gone too soon. He was only 38 years old when he passed away from heart complications.
