They Were Only Sleeping
Sometimes frogs are a bit of a mystery. In the winter, where do they go? They can, in fact, sleep through the winter, but not in the same way as bears. The heart of a frog stops beating completely and they stop breathing during hibernation. The high quantities of glucose in the frog’s organs protect them from freezing solid, despite the fact that many of us would consider that to be “dead.” This implies they’ll be back to jumping around as soon as they defrost.
