It must be an exciting and challenging experience for Iowa Methodist Medical Center’s Dr Paula Mahone to handle the world’s first septuplets case. It’s still successful, despite the risks and consequences of pregnancy and birth! Each septuplet weighed between 2.5 to 3.4 pounds, but not all children were born well. Two of McCaughey’s septuplets have developmental issues affecting their motor skills. The other children only had a low health problem as they grew up, but nothing as serious as the other two.
