Worst: Black Eyed Peas, 2011
The Black Eyed donned light-up robot suits and delivered a version of their old hit song, “I’ve Had the Time of My Life.” Even though Slash of Guns N’ Roses was present, Fergie was the one who belted out to “Sweet Child o’ Mine.” That did not fly with the viewers, who gave her a lot of flak for it. In reference to the show, Rolling Stone said, “The worst. Just the worst. Watching at the time, you instantly knew you were witnessing something magical and special – like seeing a unicorn cough up blood.” For The Win was a little more lenient. On the website, they described the performance, “It was merely watchable and entertaining. Is that so bad?”
