2021 saw the second Super Bowl to occur during the COVID-19 Pandemic, with no other than popular “Starboy” singer The Weeknd performing a medley of eight of his greatest hits. Where in the past we saw Lady Gaga diving off the roof of Houston’s NRG stadium, or even Katy Perry riding an animatronic lion; this year was quite different. The Weeknd’s performance was largely limited to the stands, to comply with coronavirus prevention protocols.
