It does not matter what goes on because the people behind the scenes need to set up the halftime stages as quickly as possible. It can take several days to assemble the stage for a typical concert, but the Super Bowl staff only get a couple of minutes. In 2010, four people got injured as they rehearse the stage set-up for the performance of The Who. One of them had been hurt so badly that they had to be flown out via chopper. Before Prince made his 2007 halftime performance, it started to rain. The power also went out. This was solved by having a stagehand hold two cords together for twelve minutes!
