Widely acknowledged to be one of the finest golfers in history, Walter Hagen is third behind Jack Nicklaus and Tigers Woods for the most majors of all-time. If his 11 professional major victories had come just a few decades later, he would’ve been an even wealthier man. With 45 total PGA wins in his career, Hagen was one of the most powerful golfers of his time. If ‘Sir Walter’ had played in an era where the prize winnings were more profitable, the World Golf Hall of Famer would likely be worth hundreds of millions more. At the time of his death in 1969, Hagen was estimated to be worth roughly $20 million.
