Following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, this president became well-known for taking control. Following that, Lyndon B. Johnson increased the United States’ military engagement in Vietnam. With an IQ of 140.6, we’re still at the bottom of the list of presidents’ intelligence levels. Mr. Lyndon Baines Johnson, also known as LBJ, was inaugurated as the 36th President of the United States on January 20, 1961. He served in the White House from 1963 to 1969, during which time he left a remarkable legacy. He is praised for his efforts to move the country forward in a number of critical areas. The laws he enacted during his tenure as president included civil rights, firearms, and welfare reforms. Without a doubt, we must remember his role in passing the Social Security Act as well as expanding Medicaid and Medicare.
