Billy Joel became known as the “Piano Man” after his song Piano Man became a huge hit. He made a lovely, sweet fortune with more than 150 million record sales around the world. Joel bought several properties with all of his newfound wealth. When headlines of his Palm Beach mansion’s purchase broke, it drew a lot of attention. Joel paid $11.8 million for the 13,000-square-foot home in 2014. The eight-bedroom, eight-bathroom home with a view of the coast appears to have been bought as an investment property. We assume that because he listed the mansion for $19.5 million after renovation work a year later, a price that was later reduced to $16.9 million.
