Craig McCaw is a tech magnate with nearly $2 billion in his checking account. There is no doubt that he can have any island that his heart desires. In 1994, he purchased the James Island for $19 million. However, he ended up selling it two decades later for $75 million. Aside from that, he also put his mansion in Montecito up for sale. Gary Newman, former head of Fox, bought it for $12.2 million.
