Wine Bottle Dip
Are you a wine lover or a frequent drinker of wine perhaps? If your answer is yes, what else do you spot aside from the long neck, the elegant label and capped top of your wine bottle? You would have probably noticed that the bottom of the wine bottle looks like a dimple, right? That dimple looking part of the wine bottle is called punt or the kick-up. The first thing is that the punt gives the bottle more balance to prevent it from falling and breaking; making it more stable when a strong wind passes. Secondly, the punt makes the bottle stronger and more resistant to high pressure causing the bottle to hold the wine better. Lastly, we know that cleaning long neck bottles is hard, but the punt makes it an easy job. It helps the seam be distributed easily when cleaning the bottle before filling it with wine.
