Sidney Poitier – Age 92
Sidney Poitier, aged 92, paved the road for Bahamian-American actors. He was famous internationally and had appeared from multiple theatres, and was an on-screen Academy Award-winning actor. He was the very first actor from African America to earn a prestigious award. He decided to pursue recording, directing and ultimately became a diplomat when he retired from acting. A British knighthood was awarded to him. The Presidential Medal of Freedom was also awarded to him. He had always been outspoken against racism and had led various charitable activities.
