Papillon – Marie Antoinette’s Fashionable Pooch
A Papillon was loved by Marie-Antoniette and King Louis XV’s mistress, Madame de Pompadour. While the little dog is just 8 to 11 inches tall, his wing-shaped paws earned him the name Papillon, which means butterfly in French, and he could see the animals from a mile away. Papillons are little dogs, but they aren’t when it comes to their interests. The breed of dog should not fail to get in on the fun of the household. They are a breed of dog that is both athletic and brave. Marie-Antoinette was accompanied by the Queen’s Papillon in her dying days.
