West Side Story
If you are not too fond of classic films, you must make sure that you see this one. The film’s director (Robert Wise) was inspired to turn the story into a movie, despite not having any background on musicals. Since he knew that he needed help, he asked Jerome Robbins, a musical and dance director, to help with the scenes and prepare the characters for their roles. The 1961 film was so good that it made the viewers feel like they were taken back to 1957 Manhattan.
