Heather Nauert served as a government official before becoming a journalist. She also succeeded John Kirby as US State Department spokeswoman from 2017 to 2019, when Morgan Ortagus succeeded her. Also, she’s a member of both the Hudson Institute and J. William Fulbright Scholarship. Early in its existence, back in 1998, she joined Fox, where native Illinois worked as Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs from March 2018 to October 2018. She currently works as Fox’s special reporter but has also appeared on ABC from time to time.
