Din Tai Fung
This renowned international dumpling and noodle house chain, originally established in Taiwan in 1972, opened its first North American location in 2000. Now, it has closed its doors. A statement on the restaurant’s Instagram page explained, “Due to the current economic climate, we have made the tough decision to permanently close…” However, Southern Californians can still savor Din Tai Fung’s famous xiao long bao—commonly known as soup dumplings—and other signature dishes at the chain’s Century City and Santa Anita locations.
