You can consider this to be a somewhat humorous way to break up with someone. The receiver of the message expected to be invited out on a movie date but ended up being single. We are also unsure if the receiver of the message even got the meaning of the message, making it worse when the realization kicks in. There isn’t a lot of examples to top up a breakup that you didn’t expect, and seeing it done through text is undoubtedly worse. We can only hope that the receiver will meet someone who would take them into movie dates.
