Raising Awareness
After both Darreld and Nancy recovered, they discussed what they could do to raise awareness about organ donation. They decided to bring it first to the attention of the team at the University of Iowa Transplant Center. The media joined them and expressed their support for Nancy and Darreld’s mission. Many other people also supported the family and the incredible super teacher who had helped them by literally giving a piece of herself to them.
