King George V and Mary of Teck had six children between 1894 and 1905, but one of their children died before reaching adulthood. Following the death of their eldest son, King George V, King Edward VIII inherited the throne until 1937, when he resigned. Following this, King Georg VI, King Edward VII’s younger brother, ascended to the throne for almost 15 years. He and his wife, Queen Elizabeth, had two daughters during this period, Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margret.
