Rivers has a resume that is chock-full of personal milestones and is the greatest quarterback that has never appeared in a Super Bowl. It is also obvious, though, that he is not the player he once was. Rivers simply may not have enough zip to drive the ball downfield adequately, apart from creating turnovers at an alarmingly high rate. Moreover, in San Diego, he and his relatives are firmly ingrained, but the 38-year-old would presumably want to put his cleats and return to his lovely home in Southern California.
