Jessica Sklar and Eric Nederlander had just returned from their honeymoon when they ran into Jerry Seinfeld at the gym in 1998. Sklar and Nederlander found themselves in couple therapy even though they were still newlyweds. The chance encounter at the gym was the final straw. In 1999, she divorced him and married the comedian. Later, Seinfeld claimed that the story had been misinterpreted. He said, “The true story of what happened has never been printed, No. 1, because it’s not nearly as interesting as the gossip, and No. 2, because my wife, to her great credit in my opinion, doesn’t have much interest in setting the tabloid record straight.”
