Tragedy Strikes
Nadya Suleman was operating in a psychiatric hospital when she was caught amid a traumatic incident on September 18th, 1999. A riot broke out at the hospital due to twenty patients, and Nadya tried to interfere right away. During the commotion, one of the female patients tossed a wooden desk into the air, which fell on Nadya’s back and caused her herniated disk fracture. Workers’ compensation had some relief, and Nadya was awarded $170,000, but the money just helped her get by for a while and was the least of her problems.
