After giving birth to her octuplets, Nadya got the same amount of media coverage, earning her a slew of detractors who accused her of desiring the limelight and said that this was the only reason she chose to have all of her children despite the risks she took. Meanwhile, Nadya was preoccupied with adjusting to her new public image and raising fourteen children! Over time, she noticed that dealing with her celebrity became more complicated. Her pregnancy and childbirth are contentious enough, but Californians still accused Nadya of squandering public funds and embodying virtually all that is wrong with contemporary America, and she was even threatened!
