The actor who played the iconic character, Michael Schoeffling, was undoubtedly about to become America’s male sweetheart. Things took an unexpected turn, however. After Sixteen Candles, he appeared in eight movies before calling it quits. He got bored with the entertainment industry and wanted to spend more time with his family. So, he moved to Pennsylvania and became a woodworker, making custom furniture.
