At first, Welcome to Mooseport was meant to be a gentle comedy. This was a rare opportunity for Gene Hackman to get some laughs while starring alongside Ray Romano. Instead, all it did was cause Gene to decide to retire from acting altogether. Nowadays, the former actor is spending his days writing books – historical novels, to be exact. All the same, we’ll always think of him when we watch movies like Bonnie and Clyde, Superman, and Unforgiven.
